Jacques Dutronc's 60's go-go style rock music is pretty great. He's been recording for the last 40 odd years, from what I can gather, his 60's stuff is really the best and seems to kinda capture the vibe of what it's like to be a playboy dandy at a certain time. He might be a French Ray Davies but he's also got a piano bar/cabaret feel on some of his mellower tracks.
Apparently Dutronc acted in quite a few films too, winning a Cesar (French equivalent to the Oscar) for a leading role as Van Gogh. Every 60's club night could do with more Dutronc in their repertoires. The best thing I read about Dutronc is "He currently lives in Corsica with some 30 odd cats." I bet these cats have really good hairstyles and dance pretty well too.
